What is your business? DC Mortgage Services. Providing mortgages to residential and commercial clients. Providing advice to individuals and businesses on personal and business insurance protection.
What influenced you to set up this business? After being in industry for over 40 years I decided I needed a change. I relished the thought of the challenge ahead and being the master of my own destiny
What challenges/goals are you currently facing? As you are aware the housing market is stagnant at the moment and as a result mortgage clients are hard to find. I have to diversify to survive. I have done this to good effect.
Your greatest moment: Landing a client who wanted a £3 million pound mortgage and providing that mortgage.
Your worst moment: Facing up to the reality that the new business I had created, DC Mortgages, could not survive on mortgages alone. Having just moved into new offices it was scary.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The past is for reference not for residence.
And the worst? Just send out these e-mails and letters and the work will come flooding in. Oh YEAH !!
What is one of your special talents? The ability to save clients money by doing regular financial reviews.
What is your definition of success? Avoiding work by loving what I do.
If you could go back in time and witness one event in history what would it be and why? The building of the Pyramids. Just how did they move those massive stones to the top? I want to be up there too !!
What is your pet hate. Limp handshakes
