WREN Biodiversity Action Fund, deadline 30 January (5pm) 2009 Waste Recycling Environmental (WREN) has launched a new Biodiversity Action Fund of £10m of funding to be spread over the next five years.
Grants of between £75,000 and £250,000 are available for projects lasting up to 5 years that help to conserve biodiversity. "Biodiversity is the term given to the variety of life on Earth and the natural patterns it forms" Projects looking for WREN funding must be situated within 10 miles of any licensed and registered landfill site across most parts of the UK. In Bradford, the whole district is eligible for WREN funding. "Environmental organisations, voluntary groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations, local authorities, governmental bodies and community groups can apply for funding as long as they have a formal constitution and bank account."
