We did our bit for Children in Need- did you?

The GRID and many other organisations at the Carlisle Business Centre were involved in the 
volley ball game of the century to raise money for children in need! Everyone was dressed up in their stunning beach outfits to make it a fun and enjoyable event and the British weather did not stop anyone!  

 
 
  
We would like to thank Pro-active sports directors Rowland Egege and Bobby Singh who were coaching the session for free. Rowland and Bobby set up their business in 2005 with the passion and determination to share their love for sports and fitness with people in Bradford and West Yorkshire.  With 30 employees working for them, they provide sports sessions ranging from football, cricket, basketball, boxercise, martial arts, kick boxing, dance, aerobics  in schools , youth and community centres. If anyone is interested in booking a sports session please do contact our sports guru’s.

 

Staff at Carlisle Business Centre did a wonderful job to get the different businesses to participate in the children in need event and raised a total of £200. BACC won the game however by luck due to their heights and Action for Business tried many times to get the ball across the net, remember ladies the ball must go over the net and not under!

GRID Enterprise Coach & GRID Host Vacancies

 The GRID draws together a network of existing and would-be entrepreneurs and provides them with a fresh approach to building business. The GRID is an effective business coaching service for all who want it.  It provides a base for those just starting and a programme of events aimed at helping businesses grow.  Plus it’s a connection between the established and new businesses.

The Wibsey, Wyke, Royds GRID will operate out of the Low Moor Business Park. The GRID was established 2 ½ years ago and has developed a vibrant, growing network of over 900 members across GRID@CBC & GRID@Park Lane.  Regular networking meetings are held by members, as well as larger events involving the wider Bradford GRID network.  The GRID is all about encouraging people to start up in business and helping established businesses grow.  It is a network of entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs.  The GRID is a developing social enterprise (model developed by Camberwell) and is financed by Bradford Council’s Kickstart programme and by GRID member fees.

GRID* @ CBC - Host Required

 

The GRID* is all about encouraging people to start up in business and helping those already established to grow. It is a network of entrepreneurs helping other entrepreneurs. It offers direct support for anyone in business, about to start up or with a business idea.

The GRID* @ CBC operates out of a specially customised hub at Carlisle Business Centre. It provides a base for those just starting and a programme of events aimed at helping businesses grow. Established in 2007 the GRID* is now a vibrant, growing network of over 400 members.

The GRID* @ CBC is part of the Bradford Kickstart programme and is operated by ABL, the social enterprise dedicated to making Manningham a better place to live and work.

The GRID Host has a pivotal role in the success of the GRID. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, extremely welcoming and engaging. Someone who makes GRID members feel the GRID is a good place to be, where they want to connect with other people and do business. Someone who has the ability to develop relationships and trust; someone who will get to know the people attending the centre, who will understand their needs. Someone who can communicate well both orally and in writing – through the blog and the website, on the phone and in our marketing materials and print.

The Host must have excellent administrative and IT skills: to keep records up-to-date, run the office and assist in the organisation of events. Previous experience in customer service, sales, event and / or office management would be helpful.

The post is offered as a fixed term contract to 31 March 2011; salary £17,000 per annum.
